Editorial Policy
This publishing policy defines the commitment of our editors, driving smartin.how in the right direction. It shapes the accuracy, fairness, and commitment that set the stage for every article we publish. This policy isn’t just a set of rules, but the guiding light, as we sit to write, and is the foundation upon which we build helpful and trustworthy content. At Smartin. How, we ensure that our content avoids misleading titles or clickbait. We work towards building a long term loyalty by providing up-to-date information.
Our writers and editors are motivated by these principles as they contribute to Smartin.How. By sharing this policy in advance with our readers, Smartin. How aims to build trust and confidence in our readers that they are consuming the right information. Here is an insight into the processes we go through before content selection and publication.
Fairness and accuracy of content.
All articles published on Smartin.how is personally tested by the editors. If it is a how-to, we conduct thorough assessment and cross-verification at multiple levels before hitting the publishing button. We are on a mission to improve the lives of people, and our core principle is to keep smartin.how as accurate as possible.
We think from a user’s perspective and focus on delivering what they want. We do not want people to go through the entire article to find an information they’re searching for. Our focus is to include all perspectives and for that we occasionally draw inspiration and insights from users who have already used a product or service. However, while forming the structure of the copy, we make sure that it’s neutral and holds no prejudice towards any brand or company.
Source of content and reliability.
We do not write on trending topics or news. We decide to write an article if the existing sources on the internet are not reliable or if there is a scope for improvement from our side. Although we try our best, we accept that there still can be room for improvement, and we continue to fill the gaps through consultation with subject matter experts whenever needed. Also, we invite you to browse through the content we have already published; we believe we are able to deliver on our promise. Suggestions are welcome.
Editorial independence.
Currently, we have only three contributors for the site, as we have just begun our journey. The editor and owner (Smartin) is publishing on behalf of the writers. However, the writers are granted complete independence, at the same time, they are advised to adhere to our publishing principles mentioned above. We are not doing any reviews as of now, but even if we do later, we promise to be unbiased and independent of external influences through ads or sponsorship. And in case we are doing sponsored content, we will definitely mention the same in the article.
User engagement and improvements.
We know that user engagement and satisfaction are the core recipe for long-term success, and our policy is to go by that route. While ours is a small website, we take extreme care to reply to our users’ comments on social media platforms and the site itself, so that they get the right response. We understand that nothing can be done perfectly 100% of the time, and there are many areas for improvement on Smartin.how. However, we promise our readers that we will try our best, based on your feedback.
